New Class (evenings): Finding Yourself in Transition

Finding Yourself in Transition

Thursdays February 12th- March 26th (6 classes)
6:30-8:30 PM

Facilitated by Angela Denton MA; P.D. MFT

Change is part of life.  We see it reflected all around us in nature as the seasons and our landscape transform every few months right before our eyes.  Many changes can be exciting and we welcome them with open arms like when we witness the miraculous birth of a little one into this world.  All too frequently, however, we experience unexpected changes that are not welcomed and we experience both emotional and physical pain.  It is during these times we feel alone and even question our faith and wonder if God truly exists.  Robert Brumet in Finding Yourself in Transitionguides us to discover the deeper meaning in the disturbing, unsettling events that happen in our individual lives and in the world.  Brumet offers a road map for us to navigate our way through life’s transitions and to help us discover that within major life transitions are opportunities for spiritual rebirth and new life.

During class sessions we will explore the following:

  • The paradox of change
  • The process of transformation
  • Rites of passages
  • Navigating through endings, the void, and new beginnings
  • Surrendering to the ebb and flow of life

Fee: Love offering

Nov 1, 2014 – Fearless Living: 30 Days of Focused Prayer

Join Us for Fearless Living: 30 Days of Focused Prayer

The spirit of God is always with us. In response to growing concerns in our world today—fear of Ebola, terrorist attacks,

and other acts of violence— the Silent Unity prayer ministry is sending out a call for prayer.

You’re invited to take a sacred journey with us—a 30-day sojourn from fear to faith—beginning Saturday, November 1.

Visit for daily messages of encouragement and to focus inward each day as together we pray:

The healing, harmonizing spirit of God is present in my life and all life.
Peace, order, harmony, and well-being are restored.

In this video message, Vice President of Silent Unity, Rev. Lynne Brown explains more about this united prayer effort:

Together we have an opportunity to more fully awaken to our oneness with God,

to individually experience the calm peace of our soul, and to collectively bless the world in prayer.

Join Ramananda John E. Welshons for this enlivening, transformational workshop. We will explore the spiritual significance of challenges and difficulties that inevitably arise in the course of human life. We will learn how to move past disappointments – like the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of job or difficult health issues, and how to keep our hearts open in the midst of difficult conditions in our world. We will learn how to loosen the grip of fear and anger, and how to use these experiences as fuel for spiritual growth. This workshop is for anyone who has experienced loss or disappointment, and struggles to understand how to process these experiences from the “spiritual” point of view. It is also for those who experience sadness or fear about world events, and the often shallow values our culture holds.

Participants will learn the following:

* Spiritual approaches for dealing with unwanted change, disappointment, and difficult emotions

* Deeper understanding of the seasons of life, and the unique elements, nuances and stages of life

* How to work with feelings of fear, anger, guilt, and numbness

* How to deal with the deep yearnings and longings that arise in the aftermath of a loss or disappointment

* How to address the unanswerable questions and spiritual issues that arise in our minds

* Experience the restorative benefits of breathing, meditation, and yoga

* Learn how to be free by “letting go of the person you used to be”
